Worship of Uril
The worshippers of Uril follow these basic tenets:
- Violence must always have a good cause and good intentions and be focused specifically on that which is evil.
- Evil must be actively prevented.
- Sometimes the ends justify the means.
- Sex is a natural part of life. Sensual pleasures are meant to be enjoyed.
- Free will is a gift from the goddess and should never be subverted or taken for granted. Overuse of alcohol and other substances subverts one’s free will. See the Vow of Abstinence feat (BoED47).
- Everyone must find his own path in life but you should guide them towards goodness.
- The law of nature is sacred. Do no harm to the environment. Take only what you need.
- Help other when you can. Provide reasonable material assistance to those in need or, better, help them learn to help themselves.
- Healing and harming energy are part of nature. Neither is inherently good or evil; it matters how you use them.
- Worship only the goddess and other good deities. Worship of evil deities is heresy.
- Constant sacrifice to the goddess is necessary for a good life. A vow of poverty can bring inner peace to a good person. See the Vow of Poverty feat (BoED48).
- Show mercy to evil creatures who ask for quarter.
- Show forgiveness to those who commit sins, for they are only mortal.
- The path of goodness is different for every individual. He must pick his way through the tangled web of the forest.
- Even in the worst of situations, have hope, for the goddess watches over you and provides for everyone.
