List of Bests
From Towers
This page serves to list some of the "best" things in the world. Not features of the setting that the author thinks are interesting, but features of the setting that someone living in it would feel are the prime choices for each category. For example, inhabitants of the world might think that the best steel comes from the dwarves in the Galamonner Mountains. By listing what people in the setting value most, I feel I can bring the world to life with details.
Other superlatives will be captured here, too. The largest mountain, the tallest tree, the most powerful wizard.
- Mountain
- While the Galamonner Mountains are part of the largest chain of mountains on the northern continent, the Kakasino Mountains on the southern continent are longer and thicker. The tallest mountains on the northern continent are the Starkav Peaks, reaching some 35,000 feet (6.6 miles) above sea level.
- Sorcerer
- In the Towerlands, Ambrudos Csanyi, scion of Talazc is feared as the most evil and dangerous sorcerer.
- Steel
- The best steel comes from the dwarven merchants in the Galamonner Mountains. Starsteel is generally stronger than regular steel, but alchemists argue that it is not really steel at all.
- Swords
- In Essonay, the best swords are made by an elven weaponsmith named Turaniel Silverblade. Throughout the world, however, people generally agree that the best swords come from the Haness people on the southern continent.
- Tree
- The largest trees are actually on the Plane of Faerie, but the record for tallest in Sutherain is a tallwood tree reaching 480 feet in the Towerland of Brandul. The thickest trees are slingnut trees in Ilion. These exceed 60 feet in diameter.
- Wizard
- Ermanzian the Blind is considered the foremost wizard in the Towerlands.
